What We Believe

Cascade Christian Center is an interdenominational church started in 1995. The church is a direct result of a Michael Green, Regent College class "The Nine Cities of Acts". One of the critical points made by Green was "the number one way people come to Christ is through the planting of new churches". It was from that moment that the Vallee's believed they were to come back to their home community of Skagit Valley and plant a church that was as Green states (in his renowned volume Evangelism through the local Church)  "the only institution created for the non-member".

Cascade has moved toward fulfilling it's mission by developing a philosophy of ministry that resonates with Robert Farrar Capon's insight that Jesus ministered to the " little, least, last, lost and lame. In keeping with that statement Cascade has created a vital outreach ministry known as Jungle Playland, which brings hundreds of children and their guardians to the church each month. This is only one example of the creative and thoughtful ways Cascade has set about to joyfully fulfill the great commission (to go and make disciples) and great commandment (to love God and others).

Guy Vallee was the founding pastor of Cascade Christian Center. After spending almost 15 years in youth ministry in the U.S. and Canada, Guy returned to his home state to start Cascade Christian Center. His higher education began locally with an A.A. at S.V.C., a B.A. from Northwest University and an M.C.S. from Regent College in Vancouver, BC. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Carey Theological College. Guy is also an adjunct professor at Seattle Bible College.  Guy served as senior pastor until 2009.
